Today has been a busy but relatively good day. I'm down to about the 9th hour until this trip overseas and I feel like there's always something I may forget so I make a list. Then I worry about the things I forgot to put on the list so another series of unwarranted anxiety waves sweeps over me. I'm riding the wave though so it's all good. I beat a group of kids in 21 today. At 38, I'm definitely the "old guy" on the court. I'm also out of shape so I have no business playing with these late teens and 20 somethings but I've kind of mastered being able to do it for now. Ya know... until I'm back in shape. Well... I'm technically I'm shape now because round is a shape LOL!! You get it though. I've been using all the veteran moves my Dad used to use on me. ALL of them. It's hilarious because it just works so well. These guys love to dribble the basketball for 5 minutes thinking they're Kyrie Irving at an And 1 mixtape recording. Pulling out every fancy move. All the spins and Harlem Globetrotteresque tricks and half the time, the shot don't even go in. Me on the other hand, I'm taking my time to back you down until I get close enough to the rim and hit you with that drop step. It's nearly unstoppable haha! They hate it but it wins games (big shrug).
I am really going to miss Iron Man in the MCU. Tony Stark is basically the Batman of Marvel and I really wanted to get a chance to see a back and forth between him and Deadpool because Robert Downey Jr and Ryan Reynolds on camera together would be a masterclass in sarcasm. Iron Man made everything work I'm these movies. Like the Big Lebowski would say, Iron Man "Really brought the room together." Sidebar: If you have not seen the Big Lebowski, I suggest you go and check it out. If you're a fan of comedy, especially dark comedy, it's the perfect movie for you. Anyway, talking about Iron Man has me wanting to watch the entire Marvel catalogue. I've been trying to keep myself from buying Avengers: Endgame because I want to get all of the Marvel movies in a set together. I KNOW they're doing a collector's edition with all of them and I want 2. One for collector's purposes and the other to watch over and over lol. On Blu-ray. Then maybe use some of the sick days I never touch to watch em all lol. Just my luck though, I'd probably get really sick and actually need that sick time down the road. Isn't that how it happens? Lol
I'm gonna keep it light today. I still have some things to do before I leave and just like everyone everywhere that's ever gone anywhere, I'm not completely done packing the day before the trip.
I finally have all of my ideas together for this project I'm working on and that has me both excited and anxious. Anxious because it's one of those type of things that have a bunch of moving parts and along with the other things I will have the task of keeping people motivated. I do look forward to seeing all of it through. That's something I'm super adamant about. I'm not half doing anything. Gotta see it all the way through. Gotta finish and not slack on any parts of anything. Also praying to keep this same energy for an extended period of time and outlast the old me long enough to be able to reach success... Selah
Tomorrow's a travel day like I said previously and I'll still be attempting to blog as regularly as possible but I may take a day or two to get acclimated and rest. Pray safe travels for ya boy in the meantime. Please and thank you!!
