Han Solo's Duet

Writer's picture: AJ in real lifeAJ in real life

There's no way to keep up with a change in diet if you don't plan it. It can't be done. Meal planning goes a long way and personally when I do get hungry I don't  want to have to go home and make something because there aren't healthy options anywhere. Or at least not one that's A) aren't gross and B) don't cost an arm and a leg. It be McDonald's or bust out here and my saving Grace is that I really don't like their food so I won't go. Writing this right now reminds me that I need to grab some things from the grocery store before the day is out but whether or not that will happen is unclear at the moment lol

I don't know if I liked the Hans Solo movie because it was good or because I'm a fan of the character. I can't remember. I'll have to watch it again lol (I've seen it like 8 times). Good thing its on Netflix. My love of Star Wars cannot be overstated so I have to see movies like this over and over in order to be objective. I mean, you pull off a non Jedi oriented Star Wars film, somebody deserves an award lol. Random, but I was talking about all the Grinch movies with someone and highlighting how they keep coming out with the same movie every time they release a "new" one. Nothing rebooted or re-imagined. Perhaps how the Grinch stole Easter where he makes a huge effort to commercialize the holiday and take the focus off of Jesus...but I guess he'd technically be thwarting the Easter Bunny and it would actually turn out more like the Nightmare Before Christmas. Maybe How the Grinch Stole Kwanzaa...Orrrrrrrrrrr better yet, How the Grinch Stole America except the Grinch would be played by a white dude and he'd feel so bad about it at the end he'd give the natives a small piece of their land back and the right to legally gamble and free college tuition to ultimately make himself feel better about what he did and ultimately convince everyone that was better than giving back what was stolen. Yeah, I think that works...

Ok that went much different than I planned lol. Anyway, back when I used to play Star Wars at school with my friends, everyone called out the character they were as soon as the game started (all it was, was tag with different names LOL). Automatically everyone would always say either Han Solo or Luke right off the bat so if you weren't quick enough, you had to be somebody else. I loved (and still love) Darth Vader but I wasn't gonna be him unless I was "it" and I definitely wasn't starting the game out being "it." So who else could you call out before anyone else? Jango Fett was usually off the board by then too. Lando was cool but his best attribute (to us) was that he was cool and technically that made him the second coolest character because Han Solo was the de facto coolest character. Plus, I kind of grew up in a white neighborhood so I was already not feeling other kids telling me to be Lando just because his character was black. So I started being the one to suggest the game to everybody so I could call Han first lol. "Let's play Star Wars, I'm Han Solo!" Hahaha! Man, they used to hate that but sometimes you have to learn to be a step ahead. I do this almost to a fault and by almost I mean definitely lol. My anxiety reaches near nuclear levels because I anticipate moves like Robert Downey Jr in the Sherlock Holmes movies. Not ideal, but it's the price you pay when you live by the Batman detective code of trust (shrugs). Kind of off subject but also on subject: It really sucks that Han Solo is dead in the Star Wars franchise and Chewbacca is dead in real life. Also I want to create a man cave in the image of the inside of the Millennium Falcon in homage to both of those characters. If you haven't already guessed this about me, I'd be the guy from that movie The Benchwarmers that had all the dope merch from back in the day if I had the money (insert evil laugh) hahahahaha!

Today has been a day... I hope you've had a good one but this has been one of those that you're just thankful you got through it for me. The keyword is thankful though. Happy Hump day!!
