Friday Jr is basically in the books. It's been a lot of running around even for me lol but what else is new right? Patriots football is back and I couldn't be happier about it. Of course it's just preseason right now but it's still football. Also gearing up to bring home a couple trophies for fantasy football this year. I have 2 teams and will probably join another league to add one more. I'm competitive enough to put forth max effort for all of them but the money league is the one I'm trying to go all in on for sure this year. I came in second last year and won like 150 bucks so I'm looking forward to improving and getting that chip...and also that bigger cash prize lol. So in your daily prayers I'd appreciate it if you'd include one for Ya Mom's New Boyfriend. Yes that's my team name and yes, even though you didn't ask I can confirm that my team Avatar is Ving Rhames in the kitchen cooking breakfast from that scene in the movie "Baby Boy." I laugh every year I come back to this league haha! This year the stakes are a little higher though because the person who comes in last place is obligated to wear an outfit of the League's choosing and stand on the middle island of a main road in the city during a high traffic time. Safe but embarrassing.
I think the best thing about fantasy football is the camaraderie. All the trash talk and humiliation of friends. All in fun of course lol. I've been thinking about that often lately. Having a team I mean. I keep seeing examples everywhere how nobody does anything on their own. Even Darth Vader had Storm Troopers. He also needed the folks that built the Death Star. Probably should've had another guy build it (if you haven't seen Rogue One, go do yourself a favor) but he still needed the help hence today's tee lol. Of course it conflicts with the idea of being self made but I never fully bought into that idea anyway. Having a team, not necessarily of friends but of people moving in the same direction and willing to support your goals and you theirs. You do have to do what you need to in order to get your thing off the ground that's very true but being able to find like minded people willing to assist you in achieving your goal(s) is priceless. I'm not talking about people who are hype at first and sort of tail off shortly thereafter when you're not an overnight success. Those are hype fans and there's a difference. I mean the people who support by action, are there to pick you up when you're discouraged but hold you accountable when you're not doing what you should. The people that don't allow you to give excuses and go out of their way for your vision and aren't afraid to take an L if it doesn't work out. Most importantly, the people you reciprocate all of that for because that's how those partnerships stay strong. Even if it's a slow build of that team, it...is...needed. I'm not the person that will just take friends and ask them to be a part of stuff because we're close or whatever. I wouldn't expect anyone to be as passionate about my stuff as I am but they need to have a passion for whatever it is you ask them to help with. Passion and drive and self motivation. In recent years I've began to understand the value in having an accountability partner and I'm thankful for my bro but I also know that it's something to build from. A relationship that helps cultivate other good relationships. I HATE having to depend on ANYONE for ANYTHING but I know that in order to really prosper forward, you need a team. So I'm praying that God will open my eyes and affect my decision making during that slow process and help me to trust the right people on the way to where I'm going. It's hard no doubt but it's necessary. I tell my kids all the time that hard doesn't mean impossible, it means more effort goes in so now I have to use that on me and maybe if you found yourself anywhere in there, you can use it on you.
